Summer Camp Assistant Counselor

An Assistant Counselor must be at least 18 years of age and must successfully pass a Criminal Background check.The pay rate is $18.75/hr.
Camp runs in two 3 week sessions. Assistant counselors must be available for at least one 3 week session and ideally would be available for all 6 weeks.
Session 1: June 27-July 15
Session 2: July 18-August 5th

The Assistant Counselor’s duties include but are not limited to:
Participating in the camp orientation prior to the opening of camp, as well as attending any additional meetings or workshops
Participating as a role model and leader in all camp activities, including but not limited to all camp gatherings, assigned age group specific programming, and continuing activities begun by the lead teaching artists
Assisting Counselors, Camp Director, and Administrative Staff in any camp related matter when directed
Executing age appropriate curriculum (including projects, games, stories, songs, etc.) in the spirit of camp session theme in concert or under instruction from the lead teaching artist and in cooperation with all other counselors, staff, and lead teaching artists.
Assist in room/camp set-up at the beginning of each day
Assist in room/camp clean-up a the end of each day
Assist in room/camp set up prior to each 3 week session
Assist in room/camp clean up following each 3 week session
Caring for and supervising no more than 20 children
Being responsible for the safety and well being of the campers in their group
Harmoniously working with Counselors and Counselors-In-Training
Interacting with parents and children in a caring and attentive manner. Any problems should be discussed with the Camp Director
Arriving at camp on time being ready to work per your employment agreement
Uphold all safety and health policies and procedures of the camp
