First Grade Teacher needed for 2022-2023
Apr 12 2022 | Friends of Willow Tree | Fallbrook, CA (North County San Diego)
Friends of Willow Tree is seeking a First Grade Teacher for the 2022-2023 academic year.
Friends of Willow Tree is an enrichment center that offers a curriculum inspired by Waldorf methods to students in grades Kindergarten through 8th. We have an active parent body, a supportive board of directors, and a committed faculty.
LOCATION
Our community will welcome you to our friendly village in North County San Diego. The town of Fallbrook has a lovely Waldorf community, biodynamic farms, study groups, and close proximity to WISC (Waldorf Institute of Southern California). Our program serves a diverse population that might not otherwise have access to a curriculum inspired by Waldorf methods.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an individual who possesses high expectations, a strong sense of personal accountability, a strong “teacherly” presence, a positive attitude, and excellent communication skills.
As an enrichment program, we work with families who are homeschooling and are either enrolled with an independent study charter or have filed their own Private School Affidavit (PSA).
We look to our teachers to lead not only the children but also the parents in their education. Our goal is to help develop a strong community that is supportive of a developmentally appropriate method of education.
COMPENSATION and PERKS
~ Competitive salary based on experience and education
~ Students attend Monday - Thursday
~ Small class sizes
~ Teachers have their afternoons and Fridays for prep (18 hours/week of teaching and 20 hours/week of paid prep)
