Kindergarten Assistant for the 2022-2023 School Year

We are looking for a kindergarten assistant to work in our Rainbow Kindergarten.

The Kindergarten Assistants help to educate students in an environment and manner that nurtures and guides them, with consideration for the needs of each individual child and the class as a whole. The Kindergarten Assistants shall work as much as possible from the indications of Waldorf philosophy and integrate Waldorf methods with other current best educational practices. The Kindergarten Assistant’s main focus is to help the lead Kindergarten teacher meet the educational needs of students. The Kindergarten Assistant works under the direction of the Kindergarten Teacher to which s/he is assigned.

Appropriate educational background and skills to complete the task required. Be flexible; work in an atmosphere of unpredictability and challenge; examine one’s own knowledge and seek out opportunities for professional development; function as a member of a professional team; and function as a role model for children and parents.

It is expected that the Assistant’s classroom hours are 7:45am to 1pm, Mon - Fri during the school year. Salary for 2022-2023 is $24.60/hr. The position can be combined with supervising in the aftercare program at the same compensation rate. As a combined position, the person in the position can qualify to receive health benefits. Free aftercare available for employee’s children.
