Nestled in the foothills of Pikes Peak in a beautiful historic neighborhood, Mountain Song Community School is a Waldorf-inspired K-8 public charter comprised of a vibrant and diverse community of families and educators dedicated to the conscious evolution of the whole child.

The school is seeking second and third grade class teachers to join us in the 2022-23 school year. Candidates will either have completed a Waldorf training or commit to pursue and complete one, which Mountain Song funds. We seek candidates who will join the school's commitment to inclusive and equitable practices, embracing and supporting our students' diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and needs. Further, we seek a colleague who will join the school's commitment to social, cultural, and ecological renewal.

The school has a dedicated faculty of kindergarten, class, special subject, and special education teachers; a strong leadership team; and an active, supportive board of directors. Mountain Song features a signature Agricultural Arts program with a farm-to-table cooking focus. The school also embraces trauma-informed practices.

Mountain Song Community School is in Colorado Springs south of Denver along the front range of the Rocky Mountains with abundant hiking trails and natural beauty surrounding it. Pikes Peak overlooks the city, and the stunning Garden of the Gods park abides within it. Colorado Springs is also home to the USA Olympic and Paralympic Headquarters.

The school is a member of the Alliance for Public Waldorf Education. It is a public charter school founded in 2013 and authorized by the Colorado Charter School Institute. Mountain Song was approved for a 3+2 year extension of its charter contract with the state after a rigorous review process in 2021.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree (preferred in elementary childhood education or related subject)

Preferred Qualifications:
Waldorf credential or equivalent experience
In-field endorsement or equivalent
2-5 years classroom experience
Colorado State License
