Math Teacher
The Waldorf School of Philadelphia seeks a full-time Math Teacher to teach grades 6-8 math classes and to support grades 3-5 classroom teachers in the delivery and development of the lower grades math curriculum.
The Math Teacher will teach 4 periods per week for each grade level 6th - 8th grade, in addition to working collaboratively with class teachers to provide comprehensive math support for students in grade levels 3rd - 5th. In conjunction with the Learning Support Coordinator, the Math Teacher will assist classroom teachers in providing differentiated instruction for lower grades students, provide opportunities for small group pull-out services or interventions, advise ongoing skills classes, and support assessment and benchmarking aimed at tracking student academic achievement.
The ideal candidate should have a strong sense of self and a great love of students, in particular middle school students and math. Communication with parents and guardians about expectations and progress, and a solid rapport with the students are essential aspects of the position. The ideal candidate has experience teaching middle school math and seeks a collaborative working environment. The position starts August 2022.

Qualifications:
Middle School teaching experience in mathematics from basic skills through pre-algebra.
Dedication to providing a safe and respectful learning environment for students, and demonstrated success with differentiated learning.

Minimum qualification: Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
A US Citizen or holding an appropriate work visa and an ability to pass a background check.
Candidates with training in Waldorf education or enrollment in a Waldorf training program are preferred but all qualified candidates with middle school math experience will be strongly considered
