High School Science Teacher
Apr 04 2022 | Lake Champlain Waldorf School | Burlington, Vermont
Are you an experienced science teacher with an appreciation for both Goethean and Newtonian science? Do you value working as part of an interdisciplinary team and forging meaningful relationships with students over the course of their middle and high school years? Lake Champlain Waldorf School is seeking an Upper School Science Teacher.
Our well-established K-12 school is both grounded and innovative, rooted in a developmental curriculum and reaching into the future through an educational emphasis on social, racial, and environmental justice. We offer a vibrant learning community, a consistently strong and capable Board of Trustees, and a clear and collaborative governance structure. Our two campuses are located on over 25 acres in beautiful northern Vermont. In addition to offering a cornucopia of outdoor recreational possibilities, the area is a rich artistic and cultural center, and has a major University and several colleges.
Come join an innovative team of faculty who are working to develop new models of teaching that serve the students of the 21st-century. Young people need now, more than ever, the capacities that are at the heart of our mission: creativity, compassion, collaboration, and problem-solving.
Position Description

Topics include geology, astronomy, organic chemistry, anatomy and physiology, thermal physics, botany, optics, inorganic chemistry, cellular biology, electricity and magnetism, zoology and evolutionary biology. Depending on staffing, enrollment, and programmatic configurations, the Upper School Science Teacher may also teach experiential environmental education for Lower School students. The Upper School Science Teacher is a key member of the Upper School Branch and participates collaboratively in making the decisions that affect their students. This is a full-time position.
