School Culture Coordinator / Dean of Students
Mar 31 2022 | Waldorf High School of Mass. Bay | Belmont, MA
Seeking a part-time or full-time Dean of Students/Coordinator of Culture committed to and trained in collaborative, proactive, equitable and restorative approaches to working with teens. Waldorf High School of Massachusetts Bay is a very small high school with a holistic and warmly personal approach to education and student support. This is a new position which will work closely with the Director of School, School Counselor, teachers and students to proactively help maintain our safe, positive, inclusive and equitable school culture. This position involves meeting with individuals and small groups of students both proactively and when intervention is needed, and also includes mentoring the Student Council and Peer Leadership groups. We are seeking someone with vision and commitment to the ongoing work of building a “radically inclusive” and deeply caring culture together, and modeling as adults the culture we are helping young people build. Our tradition as a close-knit, warmly welcoming community is a starting point for us to create an even more equitable, supportive and collaborative environment.
This position may include additional administrative and/or teaching duties, with the specific responsibilities based on school needs and your strengths, skills and experience.
As a school, we value deeper learning with lower stress in a close-knit, diverse and inclusive community, and we integrate creative work in the arts throughout our curriculum. Experience with Waldorf education would be ideal; Candidates with experience at other types of schools will also be considered. A warm, outgoing person with good organizational and collaboration skills will do well. It is essential to exemplify genuineness and a caring spirit, with listening skills and creative flexibility. We are an equal opportunity employer and warmly welcome all applicants.
Equitable salary scale for all employees is based on experience.
Send resume, cover letter/personal statement, and references to Cedar Oliver, Director of School (c.oliver@waldorfhighschool.org).
