Yuba River Charter School is a thriving Waldorf Methods Charter School, with approximately 300 students in Grades K through 8. Established 28 years ago, Yuba River Charter School was the first public charter school guided by the principles of public Waldorf Education in the United States. Recently our school realized its dream of land ownership and built a beautiful educational space on 16 acres for children to create, learn and play. We have an outdoor garden classroom space, a playground and playcourt, and plan for a working farm with animals, outdoor amphitheater, outdoor classrooms and space for a full practical arts program.

We are located in Grass Valley, in the picturesque Sierra Nevada Foothills of California, only an hour north of Sacramento and less than 90 minutes to Lake Tahoe. Duties broadly include administrative oversight, communication with all stakeholders, working closely with the Board of Directors, managing of parent and personnel matters, and embodying and advocating for the execution of the mission, vision, values and strategic direction of YRCS.
