OUR MISSION STATEMENT:
Cedarwood School brings Waldorf Education to life and strives to instill a love for learning. Our curriculum weaves together the arts, academics and movement, with a reverence for the developing child. We nurture our children’s spirituality, cultivate their ability to think imaginatively and inspire them to seek the truth.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Pedagogical Director provides administrative leadership, oversight, and coordination of the faculty and curriculum. They work to facilitate the management of planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum.
The Pedagogical Director works out of the philosophy of Rudolf Steiner with extensive knowledge of Waldorf Education. Adhering to the values of leading out of collaboration with three pillar leadership, the PD holds extensive knowledge of Waldorf Education, and core programs. The PD works with faculty to maintain high standards of teacher performance to fulfill the school’s mission.
REPORT TO: Head of School
HOURS WORKED AND TERMS OF OFFICE: Full-time, 12 month, administrative position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Development and Support
Faculty Development and Management
Student Academic and Behavioral Support
Oversee and Support Committee Work
Represent the Faculty Pillar and Waldorf Pedagogy
TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS: Background in Waldorf education with extensive teaching, administrative, and human resource experience required. Master’s degree preferable.
