First Grade Class Teacher
River Valley Waldorf School is seeking an individual to join the faculty beginning the 2022-23 school year. The position requires authentic warmth, good humor, joy, and enthusiasm for teaching. Our school has a strong faculty of dynamic teachers, growing enrollment, effective leadership, and committed parents. We seek colleagues who share a vision for social justice through Waldorf Education. Ideal candidates will have a passion for Waldorf education, be willing to commit to ongoing work of diversity, equity, and inclusion, experience in elementary education, and the inter- and intra-personal skills to partner with parents and collaborate with colleagues.
General Description
Meet your class of eager first graders and begin your journey with them in beautiful Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Start the day with movement and singing and enjoy the ability to be a creative professional with the freedom to meet your students where they are as you artistically work with the curriculum.
Qualifications
We prefer candidates with a college degree, a commitment to Waldorf education, and proven capacities for teaching. Waldorf teaching training is strongly preferred for this position. We offer competitive benefits and a tuition remission benefit for qualifying faculty children.
Hours and Compensation
Daily 8:00 am – 3:30 pm with weekly after-school faculty meetings and occasional special events on evenings and weekends.
Salary ranges from $33,000 – $47,000 based on education and experience, and includes participation in the 403b retirement plan as well as healthcare benefits. Background clearances, physical examination, and TB test will be required.

School Year: September 8, 2022 – June 8, 2023

The 7-acres of River Valley Waldorf School sits on forested hills that overlook the Delaware River on unceded Lenni-Lenape land. We are so grateful for the First Nations people’s reverent caretaking of the land we now call Upper Black Eddy, Pennsylvania. Upper Black Eddy is located in Bucks County and only 40-60 minutes from major metropolitan areas. Our programs include a caregiver-child program, mixed-age early childhood classes, and grades one through eight. The River Valley Waldorf community strives to be supportive, and welcoming, and the school has recently deepened its commitment to diversity and equity initiatives. The school is a full member of the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America (WECAN) and is accredited by both the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA) and the Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools (PAIS).
