Math Teacher Specialist
River Valley Waldorf School is seeking an individual to join the faculty beginning the 2022-23 school year. The position requires authentic warmth, good humor, joy, and enthusiasm for teaching as well as the capacity to meet diverse learner needs and excellent knowledge of mathematics skills scope and sequence. Our school has a strong faculty of dynamic teachers, growing enrollment, effective leadership, and committed parents. We seek colleagues who share a vision for social justice through Waldorf Education. Ideal candidates will have a passion for Waldorf education, be willing to commit to ongoing work of diversity, equity, and inclusion, experience in elementary education, and the inter- and intra-personal skills to partner with parents and collaborate with colleagues.
General Description
Bring the joy and beauty of mathematics to students in grades 5-8th grades in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Teach math skills and math main lesson blocks as needed while collaborating with and supported by middle school class teachers.
Qualifications
We prefer candidates with a college degree, a commitment to Waldorf education, and proven capacities for teaching. Waldorf teaching training is strongly preferred for this position. We offer competitive benefits and a tuition remission benefit for qualifying faculty children.
Hours and Compensation
This part-time position, three to four days a week less school calendar breaks. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and the jointly agreed upon schedule.

Start: 6/1/2022
Inservice Training week before school begins
School Year: September 8, 2022 – June 8, 2023
Required training obtained during employment may include:
CPR and First Aid
Mandated Reporter Training
Stewards of Children – Darkness to Light
Racial Equity: Anti-bias Training
The 7-acres of River Valley Waldorf School sits on forested hills that overlook the Delaware River on unceded Lenni-Lenape land. We are so grateful for the First Nations people’s reverent caretaking of the land we now call Upper Black Eddy, Pennsylvania. Upper Black Eddy is located in Bucks County and only 40-60 minutes from major metropolitan areas. Our programs include a caretaker-child program, mixed-age early childhood classes, and grades one through eight. The River Valley Waldorf community strives to be supportive, and welcoming, and the school has recently deepened its commitment to diversity and equity initiatives. The school is a full member of the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America (WECAN) and is accredited by both the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA) and the Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools (PAIS).
