Early Childhood Lead Teacher

Portland Waldorf School is welcoming applications for a full-time or part-time Early Childhood Lead Teacher for the 2022-23 school year.
Primary responsibilities include classroom program and activities, nurturing and educating children in a way that demonstrates alignment with Waldorf early childhood teaching principles.
Provide a bridge for parents to Waldorf education and Portland Waldorf School through regular class meetings, sharing relevant materials, and at parent teacher conferences; maintain classroom and supplies; participate in the admissions process for new families, including parent interviews and enrollment events outside of regular school hours; participate in all school and section wide faculty work including meetings, teacher development, classroom and school-wide festivals; ensure that the classroom program is consistent with the PWS commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Our teachers and staff members work enthusiastically and energetically to engage their students and are dedicated to Waldorf education. They work collaboratively with their colleagues and the parent community to create an educational environment that is aligned with the school mission and program goals.
We expect a teacher candidate to hold a bachelor’s degree, a Waldorf early childhood teacher training certificate, and meet all child-care requirements for the State of Oregon.
Portland Waldorf School was founded in 1982 and is fully accredited through AWSNA. We serve students in Early Childhood through 12th grade on a beautiful seven-acre campus. We offer a full Waldorf curriculum, as well as a middle and high school athletics program.
Salary is dependent on credentials and experience.
