Part-time
19 hours weekly
July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023
Position: $23 per hour
Teaches reading skills classes to 1st-6th graders
Teach targeted literacy intervention to small groups of students using research-based strategies and resources
Supports the mission of City Garden School
Job Description
Creates curriculum, lesson plans, and activities for enhancing literacy skills and abilities.
Assists classroom teachers in creating and examining data to measure need for literary services and success of improvement measures.
Meet regularly with the classroom teachers to plan literacy instruction that correlates with the individual student’s needs or as requested by the classroom teacher.
Will attend one teacher meeting each week
Maintains open communication with parents about curriculum, classroom dynamics, and individual progress. Helps prepare with the class teacher for parent teacher conferences.
Maintains communication with the Director regarding curriculum and classroom management through open communication and classroom observations.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate is familiar with Waldorf education and brings experience, warmth, and joy for working with children. However, training is available if there is no Waldorf experience.
Bachelor’s Degree
Master’s Degree in Reading Instruction preferred, or specialized literacy training
Must love the outdoors and be willing to teach in all weather.
