Middle School Math Teacher

The Freedom Family Cooperative is welcoming applications for a warm yet confident experienced Middle School Math Teacher to start no later than August 2022.
The Freedom Family Cooperative is a thriving initiative located in the Hill Country of Central Texas, with a community of dedicated parents and teachers. Founded in the fall of 2020, we serve students in Early Childhood – 8th Grade four days per week (Mon – Thur.). We are a group of Waldorf devotees who honor health freedom. We are administering a traditional Steiner curriculum and do not subscribe to the “woke” liberal agenda.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced and certified Waldorf teacher with demonstrated success teaching children in middle school. Possesses enthusiasm and motivation to work collaboratively with colleagues and demonstrates a familiarity and interest in the philosophy and methods of Waldorf Education. We seek teachers who are experienced, creative, flexible, and committed to Waldorf education and will help build a growing middle school. Our dedicated faculty values strong and warm collegial relationships.
Part-time
Up to 15 hours weekly
Position: $30 per hour
Teaches Math skills classes to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders
Teaches math main lessons to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders
Works with class teacher to ensure students are gaining all math skills needed
Supports the mission of the Freedom Family Cooperative
Job Description
Creates curriculum, lesson plans, activities, and teaches the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students math in a method inspired by Waldorf Education.
Will attend one teacher meeting each week
Maintains open communication with parents about curriculum, classroom dynamics, and individual progress.
Helps prepare with class teacher for parent teacher conferences. Delivers classroom email updates bi-monthly
Maintains communication with the Director regarding curriculum and classroom management through open communication and classroom observations.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate is familiar with Waldorf education and brings experience, warmth, and joy for working with children. However, training is available if there is no Waldorf experience.
Must have Middle School math teaching experience.
Preferred - Middle School math teaching certificate.
