Middle School Lead Teacher (7th Grade)

The Freedom Family Cooperative is welcoming applications for a warm yet confident experienced Middle School Lead Teacher (7th Grade) August 2022.
The Freedom Family Cooperative is a thriving initiative located in the Hill Country of Central Texas, with a community of dedicated parents and teachers. Founded in the fall of 2020, we serve students in Early Childhood – 8th Grade four days per week (Mon – Thur.). We are a group of Waldorf devotees who honor health freedom. We are administering a traditional Steiner curriculum and do not subscribe to the “woke” liberal agenda.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced and certified Waldorf teacher with demonstrated success teaching children in middle school. Possesses enthusiasm and motivation to work collaboratively with colleagues and demonstrates a familiarity and interest in the philosophy and methods of Waldorf Education. We seek teachers who are experienced, creative, flexible, and committed to Waldorf education and will help build a growing middle school. Our dedicated faculty values strong and warm collegial relationships.
Class teacher responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Teacher main lesson blocks throughout the year
Teach regularly scheduled skills classes
Be available to parents for collaboration on student needs, including twice yearly parent-teacher conferences.
Write the required narrative reports on students in Grades 1-8 participation
Participate in the larger school community.
-Attend faculty meetings and occasional special events (open houses, festivals, etc).
Ideal Candidates Will:
-Waldorf Grades Teacher Certification
-Possess strong classroom management skills as appropriate.
-Prior teaching experience--preferably in a Waldorf or other progressive school setting.
-Be willing to engage in Waldorf training over the summer and/or take Waldorf curriculum-development courses within the first few years of employment.
