Edge Hill Country School is an independent school offering education inspired by the Waldorf curriculum for children from kindergarten to Grade 8. Edge Hill is situated outside the town of Durham, Ontario on the edge of farmland in an original Ontario schoolhouse with three other buildings on a natural playground. We are within half an hour of the beauty of the Bruce Peninsula on Lake Huron and about two hours north of Toronto, Canada’s largest city.

We are now accepting applications for the position of a Grades Teacher, including main lesson and skills for the 2022-2023 School Year.

The ideal candidate will have the following:
Strong communication skills
Ability to work as part of a team with the existing faculty group
Strong commitment to Waldorf education
Demonstrated ability to work with the parents to support and strengthen their understanding of Waldorf education
Waldorf Teacher Education Certificate and/or Ontario Teacher training preferred

Our school offers professional development opportunities and mentoring for faculty. We have a working Board of Directors and a highly involved parent community. Edge Hill Country School is a non-profit organization.

This is a full-time, salaried position with tuition remission. Regular hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:30am - 3:30pm, with one 2 hour afternoon/evening faculty meeting each week. Yearly contracts range from $22,000 to $37,000 depending on education and experience.
