Hello there!
My name is Emily am a certified elementary school teacher (grades 1
- 6) and graduate of the Washington Waldorf School living in Washington, DC. I am seeking a full-time teaching position, either at a school or in a home school setting beginning in August 2022.
For the past ten years, I've worked as a teacher and education policy advocate in Nepal, Tanzania, and the United States. Currently, I am the Development Manager for an international education focused non-profit.
As a passionate, committed, and professionally trained educator, I can reach students of diverse abilities where they are and help them embrace lifelong learning inside and beyond the classroom.
Some of my qualifications include:
-English teaching experience in Nepal (K-5), Tanzania (1-8), and the United States (4th grade, undergraduate, and adult)
-Maryland Professional Teaching Certification, Grades 1 – 6
-Master’s degree (4.0 GPA) in international and comparative education from George Washington University with a concentration in teacher training, pedagogical research, and evaluation
-Passion for creative arts therapy and experience leading songwriting, storytelling, and poetry workshops with at-risk youth locally and internationally
-Understanding of Waldorf education and lived experience of the K-12 curriculum
