Mar 04 2022 | Washington Waldorf School | Bethesda, MD
The Washington Waldorf School is seeking a full-time trained pedagogical eurythmist to teach eurythmy to children in a variety of grades reaching from kindergarten to high school. Responsibilities will include teaching 14 to 16 classes per week. Mentoring will be provided, and a piano accompanist is made available for all classes. Frequent opportunities are available for performing, guiding more advanced groups and individuals, and giving workshops for parents and staff.
Additional expectations for full-time employees include weekly full faculty and department meetings, committee work, attendance during school functions, and possible curricular trips and activities.
Interested applicants will demonstrate a commitment to Waldorf education and be able to work in a school community with flexibility and patience. A least 1 year of teaching experience, training in therapeutic eurythmy, and an interest in working with the theater department and drama presentations are also preferred. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, creative, and loving with students in addition to having an ability to work well with colleagues, administration, and parents.
This is a full-time position with benefits, including health insurance, retirement (after 1 year of employment), disability insurance, dental reimbursement, and tuition remission.
Our school, founded in 1969, is located in Bethesda, Maryland, just outside of Washington, DC, within walking distance of the Potomac River. We are a well-established, vibrant Waldorf school with fully developed curriculum and programs. We have wonderful and enthusiastic students and a strong parent body. Our school is in close proximity to rich historical and cultural offerings, yet a short drive away from mountains and ocean.
We are committed to building a more diverse and inclusive faculty and welcome applications from all interested individuals.
Please email a letter of intent and resume to employment@washingtonwaldorf.org, attn: Claudia Berg. No phone calls please.
