First Grade Teacher
Mar 03 2022 | Pasadena Waldorf School | Los Angeles, CA
The Pasadena Waldorf School seeks grades class teachers who love working with children, their parents, and who work well in a professional setting. Great teachers who love their work are our ideal colleagues! We encourage teachers from racial and cultural backgrounds not typically represented in private schools to consider working with us because we believe that our school and our students have so much to gain from a diverse array of talented adults.
Our ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in education with some experience in class teaching and is enthusiastic about the philosophy and methods of Waldorf Education. Our rising first grade students will bring joy, energy, curiosity and eagerness to work. If you have not yet completed a Waldorf teacher training we ask for willingness to pursue and complete this training. Candidates must possess a commitment to personal and professional development. Our faculty and staff value collaboration and partnership in our daily work.
Our teachers work together to support a strong and meaningful Waldorf education for students in preschool through twelfth grade. Our dedicated, experienced, and passionate faculty is supported by the College of Teachers, Pedagogical and Business Administrators, and a capable administrative team. Our school receives generous support from a parent community who deeply value this education for their children.
PWS offers a base salary with increments for experience and training. Our faculty enjoys many benefits, including support for professional development, tuition remission for enrolled children, and family medical and dental plans. The area features the Los Angeles Branch of the Anthroposophical Society in Old Pasadena, nearby anthroposophical medical practitioners and physicians and a host of outdoor and cultural opportunities.
How to Apply
Applicants should mail or email a letter of interest, resume, email contacts for three references including most recent school employer, and a brief biography to Pedagogical Administrator Erin Şemin-Walsh at esemin@Pasadenawaldorf.org. Our address is 209 E. Mariposa St., Altadena, CA 91001.
