Handwork Teacher - Full Time
Mar 01 2022 | Corvallis Waldorf School | Corvallis, Oregon
Corvallis Waldorf School is seeking a qualified Handwork Teacher to join our strong faculty for the 2022-2023 school year. Our school is characterized by trained and experienced teachers, growing enrollment, strong leadership and committed parents. We seek colleagues who share the goals of Waldorf Education and who are dedicated to the healthy development of each child. Ideal candidates will have a passion for Waldorf education, experience in elementary education, an understanding of working with parents, and the personal development and self-reflection to be able to work well in a collegial setting.
Qualifications and Benefits:
We prefer candidates with a college degree, a commitment to Waldorf education and proven capacities for teaching. Waldorf teaching training is required for Early Childhood positions and strongly preferred for Grades and Specialty positions. We offer competitive pay and a tuition remission benefit for qualifying faculty children.
When you join Corvallis Waldorf School, you are joining a community of parents and professional educators who are striving to create an unparalleled educational opportunity for children based on the pedagogical insights of Rudolf Steiner. We provide a developmentally appropriate, arts-integrated education to promote the development of the whole child. Our school fosters the intellect, nurtures the imagination, and recognizes the emotional life of each child. We are currently an associate member school with AWSNA. We serve students ranging from preschool through 8th Grade, and we are looking forward to continued growth as we successfully navigate pandemic operations and return to more typical operations in the near future.
The school is ideally situated, just five minutes from downtown Corvallis, Oregon. Corvallis is an award-winning city that has been recognized as one of the top ten places to live in the country. The school is within 90 minutes of the Portland Metropolitan area, world class skiing, and the famous Oregon coast. Corvallis has a residential population of 55,345 and is home to Oregon State University, making it an ideal small town for people of all ages.
Corvallis Waldorf School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, religion, family structure, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, abilities, or other legally protected status in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, tuition assistance programs, staff hiring, or other school programs.
