Grades Teacher - Middle School
Feb 28 2022 | Northeast Woodland Chartered Public School | Conway, NH
Northeast Woodland Charter School is seeking a full time middle school Grade Class Teacher and Math/Science Specialist.
Northeast Woodland Chartered Public School is the first initiative member of the Alliance for Public Waldorf Education working with Pre-K-8th Grade in the Northeast. We opened our doors in the Fall of 2020. Located in North Conway, NH and only minutes from the many amenities of the White Mountains, Northeast Woodland provides a public, tuition-free school serving students from a variety of backgrounds.
General Statement of Responsibilities:
Our school is seeking a dynamic candidate, who is interested in working as part of a collaborative team of middle school class teachers working with 5th through 8th grade students. Northeast Woodland utilizes a block sharing model in the Middle School years, with teachers specializing in Math and Science, or English and Social Studies. The Teacher in this role will be the class teacher for a middle school class, and will teach Math and Science main lesson blocks for two separate grade classes. In addition to teaching ongoing Math and Language Arts skills classes, this Teacher will be partnered with our another middle school teacher, who is a LA/SocStu specialist.
Teachers will loop 5th-8th grade with their class. The middle school class teacher’s primary responsibility is to deliver the curriculum in an imaginative and meaningful way to students each day. They ensure student learning and growth through the use of formative and summative assessments and based on their observations, adjust their teaching to provide additional resources as needed. Essential to this role is working with parents to establish respectful communication and providing parent education. Class teachers will also serve the school through committee work and other administrative responsibilities as well as through close collegial work with the faculty.
Nature of this position:
Northeast Woodland Public Chartered School is the first Public Waldorf charter school in the Northeast offering Pre-K-8. We opened our doors in Fall of 2020. This is a very exciting time for the Mount Washington Valley area as Waldorf education has proven itself to be a successful educational approach over the last 100 years and will now be available to any family who desires it.
