The Unity School seeks an Early Childhood Teacher Assistant and Aftercare Teacher.
Employment will begin August 2022.
The hours of employment will be 7:45-3:45 PM

Arrival at the school in the mornings (7:45 AM); help with morning preparations
Welcome the children of the teachers during teachers’ morning preparation time
Help prepare morning snack
Help with clean-up after snack and lunch; maintain a tidy kitchen area
Participate in activities as requested by the teachers
Be available to the two EC classrooms to assist as requested
Make observations of children to share with teachers, including social engagements, behaviors, skills
The Unity School EC teachers will provide mentoring and guidance in their expectations for the TA role.
In the aftercare role the aftercare teacher will:
Join Kindergarten for lunch and for aftercare set-up.
Receive the aftercare children and prepare for rest time
Maintain a quiet, peaceful environment and atmosphere during the rest period, 12:40-1:45.
Help children awaken, put away rest things, release 2:00 dismissal children to dismissal teacher, accompany children who are in extended aftercare to bathroom, help them retrieve their snacks, receive the grade school children who will join extended aftercare, supervise snack
Supervise play from 2:30-3:00 during extended care time for all children in the aftercare program.
Release children to their parents/guardians at 3:00
Clean snack tables; tidy and organize rest area, vacuum and clean bathrooms.
Make observations of children to share with teachers, including social engagements, behaviors of concern
The Unity School EC teachers will provide mentoring and guidance in their expectations for the aftercare role. One or both teachers will be onsite during the aftercare period for 1-2 weeks or until both the aftercare teacher and EC teacher agree the TA has demonstrated competence in the role.

Rate of Pay: $22,500
