Live-in Educator/Playmate/Nanny for 6yo Girl
Feb 25 2022 | Home school | Cabuya, Costa Rica
We are looking for a responsible young person (vegetarian or vegan preferred) as an educator and playmate to homeschool and spend quality time, approx 35-40 hours over 6 days, with our 6 year old daughter. We have a grade 1 Oak Meadow homeschool curriculum (in Spanish and English) to follow which is creative and fun! In exchange for this you will receive a stipend of $150 per week paid monthly via PayPal, reimbursement of your travel expenses of $1000 after completing a 3 month commitment, and $2000 for 6 or more months, accommodations in one of our Tropical Modern Zen Jungle lofts with 2 roommates, 3 gourmet vegetarian or vegan meals per day, organic shade grown Costa Rican coffee, herbal teas, super-filtered mountain spring water for drinking and bathing, housekeeping, bi-weekly laundry and linen service, basic toiletries, option to attend morning yoga classes, wifi, and full enjoyment of The Sanctuary grounds which include a swimming pool, sun deck, yoga pagoda and meditation room, rivers and waterfalls, jungle hiking trails and 40 acres of tropical paradise at our Unique and Magical Private Yoga Retreat and Yoga Teacher Training Wellness Center, The Sanctuary at Two Rivers in Costa Rica. You will not have access to a kitchen nor will you be asked to prepare food for Gia. All meals will be prepared and provided for both of you. You and Gia will have the daily responsibility of setting the table for 24 guests for lunch and for dinner. This is Gias job so she can participate in helping out.
You will be living with other young people in our off-the-grid small jungle kula. This is an opportunity to learn more about yourself and go inwards as opposed to filling the spaces in life with meaningless distractions and virtual reality. If you are interested in an active social party environment rather than being off-grid and 1 kilometer from the road then this is definitely not for you. But if you are interested in educating and playing with a vibrant and inquisitive young child, as well as have an interest in yoga and meditation, self-inquiry and discovery, while being full-on in the bosom of Mother Nature then this might just be the perfect opportunity and place for the next phase of your journey. You will have one free day per week where you can design your own day just relaxing in a hammock or by our waterfalls or pool. We are trying to navigate Covid and are currently not spending time exploring off property.
This is the daily schedule that takes place while I'm teaching students during yoga teacher trainings. The hours are not consecutive but rather 10:30-2:00pm, 3:30-6:00pm 6 days a week.
You must be a lover of wild nature, including bugs, spiders, bees, sometimes strong sun and heavy rains. We do not use devices, internet, TV or movies with Gia as her little brain is developing. Our approach is interactive, hands-on and creative. She will require your constant and full focus and awareness. We ask that you respect this and not use your own personal devise while taking care of her.
As we are up in the jungle, there may come an emergency situation where we will ask you to help out in another department or at other times that are not listed above.
Please email Liz at liz@lakshmirising.com if this sounds like an opportunity you are interested in. Immediate start date available. Thank you!
