First Grade Teacher 2022-2023
Feb 15 2022 | Asheville Waldorf School | Asheville, NC
First Grade Teacher
The Asheville Waldorf School is seeking a Waldorf teacher to join our school Faculty starting July 1 to teach our rising First Grade class in the 2022/2023 school year.
******
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have completed their Waldorf Grades Training, and have experience as a teacher in a Waldorf classroom. Teachers new to Waldorf education are also welcome, if they have a serious interest in developing themselves as a Waldorf Grades teacher. We seek teachers with a deep understanding of child development, an interest in Anthroposophy, a love of working with young children, and the enthusiasm and energy to be involved in a school entering its twelfth year as the school moves to a permanent forest based location close to town and continues Waldorf accreditation.

Asheville Waldorf School:
The Asheville Waldorf School is entering its twelfth school year. In the 2022/23 school year, we will be offering multiple parent-child classes, two nursery classes, two kindergartens, and grades First through Seventh/ Eighth. Our growth has been consistent even through the challenges of COVID-19, and our class sizes are healthy.
The Asheville Waldorf became an associate member of WECAN in 2017 and of AWSNA in 2018. Our organization consists of a cohesive and striving Faculty, a Board of Directors that draws members from both the Parent body and the community, a committed Administration (an Administrator and Assistant, a Business Manager, and an Enrollment Coordinator), and a loving and involved community of parents and families.

Asheville, North Carolina:
Asheville is an ideal place to live, well known and visited for its beautiful outdoors (it is surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains and three National Forests, and at the confluence of two major rivers), its abundance of activity options that come with the landscape and ecosystem, and its rich arts, crafts, and music culture. Asheville’s many restaurants and micro-breweries make it a highly sought out tourist destination. Local sustainable agriculture is also a hallmark of this town, which supports seventeen Farmers Markets for less than 100,000 residents. If you like to eat local organic food, participate in public music events (like community chorus), and be immersed in the arts, it is a great place where you will be warmly welcomed.
