FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHER (part-time)

Orchard Valley seeks a creative and enthusiastic foreign language teacher for elementary grades 1-6 at our East Montpelier campus for the 2022-2023 school year.
Qualifications include:
Native or near-native speaker of the language that they will teach
Foreign language teaching experience
Waldorf training or experience is a plus
Excited to work with the growing child and engage with students
Strong classroom management skills
Bringing inspired language (and Waldorf) teaching in a dynamic way
Working collaboratively with parents and colleagues
A deep passion and interest for the world around them
This is a part-time position.

Orchard Valley is a small, rural school set on a beautiful 55-acre campus that encompasses meadows, forests, orchards and gardens, and is abutted by the Kingsbury Branch of the Winooski River. We offer a full Waldorf curriculum with specialty classes in Foreign Language, Handwork, Music/Strings, Woodworking, Movement and an On the Land outdoor education program. We also have chickens, goats, and sheep, which our students help care for as part of our rich Waldorf curriculum. Our programs include combined elementary grades classes and our campus is also home to an early childhood program.
We are located eight miles from Montpelier, Vermont’s capital. It's a small town with big-city amenities - a lively arts and music scene, great restaurants and an active community life.
