Grade School Teacher
Feb 08 2022 | The Waldorf School of Philadelphia | Philadelphia
The Waldorf School of Philadelphia is searching for grade school teachers to start September 2022.
We are a diverse, energetic community with a strong commitment to understanding each student's needs. Our love, reverence, and respect for childhood are reflected in our collegial community of teachers, a diverse mix of seasoned professionals and those who are relatively new to teaching in a Waldorf setting. A magnet for creative, community-minded people, we seek to foster and support thoughtful, socially conscious, and engaged adults. We are dedicated to increasing and supporting diversity in employment and our programs by hiring candidates underrepresented in Waldorf education.
Our school offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including health insurance. We invest in our employees by prioritizing professional development and providing regular mentorship opportunities. We value innovation, initiative, collaboration, humor, and a collegial spirit. Our school is committed to the continuous development, evaluation, accountability, and transparency of DEIJ efforts and dedicated to demonstrating leadership in this realm at every opportunity. We strive to be a welcoming environment in which each person respects diverse perspectives, recognizes implicit bias, and removes barriers to participation for all.
We actively seek candidates who demonstrate a real commitment to diversity and multiculturalism in education. With a maximum of 24 students in our grades classes, we seek candidates with experience working with diverse and active groups of students.
If you are a flexible, enthusiastic teacher who wishes to participate wholeheartedly in the life of the school, we would like to hear from you.
To join our team of teaching staff you will have a BA, be fully trained in Waldorf Education or on your way to becoming fully qualified, and you’ll have a history of collegial work, parent education, and communication. You may wish to know that our school actively encourages and supports professional development through mentoring support and attending courses and conferences.
The School offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including healthcare, dental, and significant opportunities for professional development. If applicable, consideration will be given to providing relocation support.
We hope that you’re interested. To apply, send a letter, your resume, and contact information for three professional references to employment@phillywaldorf.com.
Our school is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity in its student body, faculty and staff. The school does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, language, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, creed, national or ethnic origin, citizenship status, age, disability, veteran status, language, or any other legally protected class status. People demonstrating a commitment to diversity and multiculturalism in education are encouraged to apply.
