About Cedarwood Waldorf School:
Known as a progressive urban school, Cedarwood is located in SW Portland, an area known for its natural beauty, abundance of outdoor recreational activities and thriving foodie culture. Our relationship with Portland Parks and Recreation has allowed us use of adjacent Lair Hill Park, the first pesticide-free park in Portland, for our movement classes and recess. Portland has a robust Waldorf community, with six schools, a Waldorf high school, many home pre-schools, anthroposophical doctors, therapeutic eurythmists and the Portland Branch of the Anthroposophical Society.
We serve about 260 students from early childhood through the eighth grade. Our students benefit from rich, diverse programming that includes Spanish, eurythmy, music, practical arts, movement and a middle-school math program. We have a strong, talented faculty that works hard to support one another and consciously represent Waldorf education to our school community and beyond.
Our three pillars—faculty, board and administration, and parent community— have created a mature school organization and vibrant community. We have an effective peer mentoring program and strong support for all teachers, and offer a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
We invite candidates to submit a cover letter, resume, and three references to the Pedagogical Director, Chiaki Uchiyama, at cuchiyama@Cedarwoodschool.org.
