2nd/3rd Grade Teacher
Jan 31 2022 | The Echo Mountain Waldorf Homeschool Collective | Altadena (Los Angeles area)
The Echo Mountain Waldorf Homeschool Collective of Altadena is a Co-Op run homeschool group nestled at the base of the beautiful foothills of Altadena. We are a group of bright, energetic, curious and creative rising 2nd and 3rd graders. This group loves to explore and learn about nature and their surroundings and use their physical bodies .
We are growing as a community and are calling in a passionate, warm, talented, and energetic Waldorf trained teacher to lead in the mixed 2nd and 3rd grade class for the 2021/2022 school year.
We are seeking candidates that have, or are in pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree, Waldorf teacher training, and familiar with non violent communication. We are looking for a grounded and compassionate individual who is capable of navigating challenges with grace, and holding space for our children as a group and as individuals. Candidates must be committed to excellence in teaching, parent education and dialogue, self development, and collegial cooperation with compassion.
We are committed to keeping the community safe with all precautions and sanitation protocols in place but would rather the teachers not be masked during lessons. We have continued with in-person schooling through the pandemic to try to keep continuity within our schooling and social emotional and physical well being.
The school is nature based on beautiful land that requires a robust teaching team familiar with and comfortable in the natural elements.
If you are interested in inspiring our children to continue growing into the future leaders, change-makers and stewards of our planet please reach out.
Desired qualifications:
Waldorf teacher training certificate (or in process)
Bachelor’s Degree
Previous Waldorf class teaching experience.
Candidates with experience teaching in mixed age classrooms are strongly encouraged to apply.
Applicants should demonstrate:
A dedication to creative, compassionate and inspiring leadership.
Resiliency and a positive and proactive embodiment of the Waldorf teaching philosophy.
Artistic talents across multiple mediums.
Lead teaching experience and the ability to hold form with both warmth and
expectation.
Excellent classroom management skills.
Strong energetic boundaries with students and parents.
Knowledge and experience in delivering a Waldorf curriculum.
Passion, and care for our future generation.
The ability to work positively and cooperatively as a team member.
A deeply rooted sense that teaching is a calling.
