First Grade Teacher
Jan 30 2022 | Potomac Crescent Waldorf School | Alexandria, VA
Potomac Crescent Waldorf School is seeking a First Grade Teacher for the 2022-2023 school year.
We are a vibrant Waldorf school in historic Old Town Alexandria. While we have been in Northern Virginia for over 20 years, we are moving into our newly renovated long-term location and are excited to start a new chapter in our school’s history. The parks in our neighborhood have a view of Washington, D.C., across the river.
Our grades teachers are a strong part of our faculty circle and participate in weekly full faculty meetings and grades meetings. We value pedagogical study and discussion in both groups. We support teacher mentoring and Waldorf conference and professional development opportunities as much as possible.
The ideal candidate will have a confident classroom presence with strong social and communication skills and a love for children and teaching. We are seeking candidates who have a bachelor’s degree and either have completed Waldorf Grades training at an AWSNA-accredited teacher preparation program or are enrolled in an AWSNA-accredited teacher preparation program and have Waldorf teaching experience.
To apply:
We look forward to receiving your application! The full position description and employment application can be found on our school website, www.PotomacWaldorf.org. Interested candidates should email a letter of interest and a completed application to our Personnel Committee at personnel@potomacwaldorf.org. Candidates are also welcome to contact us with questions.
