Head of School
Jan 29 2022 | The Waldorf School of Philadelphia | Philadelphia
Head of School
The Waldorf School of Philadelphia is seeking an inclusive leader who fully embraces its mission and philosophy to become our new Head of School for the 2022-23 school year. The position begins July 1, 2022.
The Head of School is appointed by the Board of Trustees to implement the school’s strategic plan, provide management and oversight of the school’s operations and staff, and ensure that the school is financially and operationally sustainable. The Head of School collaborates with pedagogical leadership in the development of school programs and pedagogical policies that will continue to meet the needs of our students now and in the future. The Head of School is an active member of the school community, our surrounding neighborhood, and both the larger Waldorf and local independent school movements.
There has never been a more exciting time to join the Philly Waldorf community. We are a diverse, energetic, and urban community with a strong commitment to a deep understanding of each student's needs. Our mission is to create a vibrant learning community based on a deep understanding of the child, integrating the intellectual with the artistic and the practical with the beautiful. We provide a decidedly independent form of education that creates decidedly independent thinkers.
A Search Committee was formed in February 2021 to oversee the development and implementation of a strategy for finding experienced, talented, and diverse candidates. The Search Committee has engaged Educators’ Collaborative, a recruitment firm, to manage the search process and attract candidates. The Search Committee will be updating the community at regular intervals throughout the search process.
All interested candidates are invited to contact Educators’ Collaborative Lead Consultant, Nathaniel E. Conard
