High School Science Teacher 2022-23

Portland Waldorf School is seeking a Waldorf trained and experienced High School Science/Math Teacher for the 2022-23 school year starting July 1, 2022.

The high school humanities, science, and art curriculum are taught through interdisciplinary themes on the topics of human rights, human welfare, environment and government/policy, including creative hands-on lessons that include a project element. Our teachers and staff members work enthusiastically and creatively to engage their students and are dedicated to Waldorf education. They work collaboratively with their colleagues and the parent community to create an educational environment that is aligned with the school mission and program goals.

We expect a teacher candidate to hold a bachelor’s degree and have high school teaching experience. We hope for candidates with a master’s degree specializing in Physics, Chemistry or Biology. A successful teacher has a desire to work with adolescents, is adept at teaching to a wide range of student abilities and has strong classroom management skills. Teaching responsibilities include all grade levels (9-12) in blocks and skills classes.

The Portland Waldorf High School, fully accredited through AWSNA and Cognia, was founded in 1982. We serve students in Early Childhood through 12th grade on a beautiful seven-acre campus. We offer a full Waldorf curriculum including middle and high school athletics program.

This is a full-time, exempt, salary position and compensation is dependent upon education and experience.
