Lead Kindergarten Teacher
Jan 25 2022 | Great Oak School | Tomball (Houston), TX
Great Oak School in Tomball, TX (near Houston) is seeking an experienced Lead Kindergarten Teacher for the fall of 2022.
Our faculty is committed to the anthroposophical view of human development, to teacher self-development, shared governance, collaborative mentorship, and healthy communication. Our community thrives with teachers who are open, accessible, flexible and proactive.
The school is located in charming Tomball, Texas, originally a small German settlement town, now with a historic main street, a German heritage museum, farmer’s markets, and independent businesses. Tomball is a reasonable commute to Texas' largest city (Houston), and the economically robust job market of the energy and industry corridors.
Our campus is surrounded by oak, pine, and pecan trees, with access to surrounding woods and several gardens. Great Oak offers preschool through eighth grades as full WECAN members and a registered initiative of AWSNA.
Our early childhood program consists of a foundational program for infants to school age, including a preschool for 3 to 4.5 year olds and mixed age kindergartens of children 4 to 6.5 year olds. Our program robustly utilizes the access to nature as we have the children spend the majority of their days outdoors.
An ideal candidate would:
• Hold a bachelor's degree or have equivalent experience, and hold a Waldorf certificate.
• Have excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Have strengths in developing and maintaining professional relationships with parents and faculty.
• Be a life-long learner interested in anthroposophy, child development, and self-development
