Our purposefully small school is seeking a full-time grade one teacher for about 14 children. Teaching days are Monday to Thursday. On Fridays the school goes outdoors in unstructured wilderness for nature immersion every week. We have about 94 students in the school with a kindergarten on site and an outdoor forest kindergarten as well. There are eight lead teachers in the school and this year we have our lead class with 12 students in grade 6 and seven. The school opened in 2003 and provides decent salary and benefits plus a four day work week. Portland is a wonderful place to live and work and we have a wonderful community of parents and we are located in a lovely building just across the street from a large park.
