Lead Kindergarten Teacher
Jan 22 2022 | Wishing Well School | California's Central Coast (Los Osos)
Do you want to live in an enchanting and nurturing place? Wishing Well School is hiring a Lead Kindergarten teacher for the 2022/23 school year. Established 13 years ago, we serve over 140 students following recent years of healthy, stable growth. We are hiring a lead teacher for one of our two mixed-age Kindergarten classrooms.
Located in the Central Coast of California, we are fortunate to live in a rare, beautiful geography, ranking in the top ten for health and happiness in national surveys. Offering Preschool – 8th grade, we are a Member of WECAN and are in progress as a Registered Initiative of AWSNA. We are an energetic school with a creative, “can do” spirit. This school year, we expanded to add a second Kindergarten class and are excited to graduate our first 8th grade. We are blessed with an active parent body, a supportive Board, and a caring, collaborative faculty.
Why Wishing Well is the right next step for you:
- Engagement: As a growing program, new faculty will have the opportunity to engage in the collaborative journey of imagining, shaping, creating, and nurturing a growing school. Your voice and vision are a welcome addition.
- Fulfillment: We believe in the symbiosis between the wellbeing of our school and the wellbeing of our faculty and staff. Your personal fulfillment, life balance, and synchronicity of spirit matter.
- Support: A supported faculty is one piece in achieving the highest potential and fulfillment of both the individual and the school as a whole. We accomplish this through providing ample teacher development opportunities and in-house mentorship.
- Community: We are a thoughtful, caring community of faculty, administration, Board, and families that strives for open, respectful communication. We have fun together, take care of each other, and feel grateful for the blessed magic we enjoy.
- Quality of life: Because of the unique easy-going, high quality of life, California’s Central Coast is one of the most desirable areas in which to live. The natural beauty is legendary, the pace of life is tempered, and many modern stressors are kept at bay. The area has much to offer to outdoor enthusiasts (surfing, kayaking, hiking, biking, rock climbing, year-round gardening). Come join us in our Central Coast village!
Qualifications: Ideal candidates have either completed or are in the process of completing their Waldorf teacher certification, have experience leading a classroom, and a Bachelor’s degree. Candidates with a pioneering spirit, a passion for spreading the gift of Waldorf education, a strong sense of self-direction, and a joyful spirit are appreciated. Applicants must be committed to self-development and excellence in teaching, collaboration and professionalism among colleagues, devotion to a nurturing and loving classroom environment, and responsibility to families and the greater community.
Salary range is competitive and depends on experience. We offer extensive financial support for professional development and full tuition remission to full-time faculty. As a growing school, our Board is actively pursuing strategies to provide meaningful health benefits. Please send your resume, cover letter, and three references to: admin@wishingwellschool.org
