Part-Time Foreign Language Teacher for 2022/23
Jan 20 2022 | Orchard Valley Waldorf School | Montpelier, VT
Orchard Valley Waldorf School in East Montpelier, Vermont, is seeking a creative and enthusiastic part-time language teacher, preferably French, for grades 1-6.
Our ideal candidate is a native or near-native speaker of the language that they will teach and have foreign language teaching experience. Waldorf training or experience is a plus. This candidate would be excited to work with the growing child, have strong classroom management skills, bring inspired language (and Waldorf) teaching in a dynamic way, engage with students, work collaboartively with parents and colleagues, and have a deep passion and interest for the world around them.
OVWS is a small, rural school set on a beautiful 55-acre campus. We expect to have a stand-alone first and second grade next year with combined classes for 3/4 and 5/6. We offer a full Waldorf curriculum with specialty classes in Foreign Language, Handwork, Woodworking, Movement and On-the-Land, an outdoor education program. Our campus is also home to an early childhood program and we have chickens, goats, and sheep, which our students help care for.
Our school is located 8 miles from Montpelier, Vermont’s capital. It's a small town with big city amenities - a lively arts and music scene, great restaurants, and an active community life.
We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and offer benefits for health insurance and educational development.
Please send resume, a general letter of interest, and three references to lynn.r@ovws.org.
