TK/KINDERGARTEN TEACHER NEEDED for FALL 2022
Jan 20 2022 | Friends of Willow Tree | Fallbrook, CA (North County San Diego)
Friends of Willow Tree is seeking a TK/Kindergarten Teacher for the 2022-2023 academic year.
Friends of Willow Tree is an enrichment center that offers a curriculum inspired by Waldorf methods to students in grades Kindergarten through 8th. We have an active parent body, a supportive board of directors, and a committed faculty.
LOCATION
Our community will welcome you to our friendly village in North County San Diego. The town of Fallbrook has a lovely Waldorf community, biodynamic farms, study groups, and close proximity to WISC (Waldorf Institute of Southern California). Our program serves a diverse population that might not otherwise have access to a curriculum inspired by Waldorf methods.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an individual who possesses high expectations, a strong sense of personal accountability, a strong “teacherly” presence, a positive attitude, and excellent communication skills.
Our TK/Kindergarten program combines extensive play-based learning with academic roots in Waldorf education. With the support of an assistant, our TK/ Kindergarten teacher works with the children on the joy of domestic and practical work. The daily work includes caring for the classroom and outdoor space along with painting, sewing, puppet shows, and seasonal crafts and celebrations.
Since we are an enrichment program, we work with families who are homeschooling and are either enrolled with an independent study charter or have filed their own Private School Affidavit (PSA).
We value excellent teaching and classroom management skills, as well as a deep understanding of child development. We look to our teachers to lead not only the children but also the parents in their education.
COMPENSATION and PERKS
~ Students attend Monday - Thursday
~ Teachers have their afternoons and Fridays for prep (18 hours/week of teaching and 20 hours/week of paid prep)
~ Competitive salary based on surrounding school districts
~ Benefits (Health, Vision, Dental, Disability)
~ Life Insurance
~ Paid Time Off and Sick Leave
~ Retirement (CalSavers)
~ Yearly Professional Development Stipend ($1500)
~ Tuition remission
QUALIFICATIONS
