Education Director

Woodland Charter School is seeking an Education Director for our growing public Waldorf school. Located in a lovely rural setting, Woodland serves approximately 190 students in grades 1-8. We are looking for someone to help usher our school into the next phase of our growth. The administration of our school is split between two roles, the Business Director and the Education Director. These positions will work cooperatively and report to the Charter Council. This role requires flexibility, collaboration, great people skills, management experience, a background in education, and familiarity with Waldorf methods.
The main duties of this position are as follows:
-Ensuring that Waldorf methods are implemented
-Supporting faculty in integrating the Common Core as appropriate to Waldorf methods
-Supervising and supporting faculty including attendance and participation in all Faculty meetings
-Hiring and performance review of employees
-Participating in the dispute and resolution procedure
-Participating in 504 and IEP meetings
-Communicating with parents on a regular basis
-Coordinate the administration of Standardized Testing
-Executing enrollment procedures
-Co-leading the Leadership & Finance Committee
-Supporting the vision of the school and planning future growth
-Knowledge of and review of all school policies
-Establishing procedures designed to carry out newly defined/adopted policies
-Attending district administrative meetings as requested
-Ensuring compliance with Charter Agreement and accountability with the district as required
-Staying abreast of Charter School laws and legislation and ensuring compliance as necessary
-Attending Waldorf charter school administrators’ meetings and trainings
-Attending school community meetings including Parent Council, etc
-Outreach and fundraising events
-Serving as the public school figure at all events
The successful applicant will have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in an education-related field, demonstrated leadership and management skills, a teaching background, experience in Waldorf education, and a desire to work with a large and varied community.
