Grade 1 Class Teacher
Jan 12 2022 | The Waldorf School of San Diego | San Diego
WSSD is welcoming applications for a full-time Grade 1 Class Teacher starting in the 2022-23 school year. We are looking for an individual dedicated to Waldorf education, with love and enthusiasm for teaching. We value collaborative working relations among our colleagues, confidence in representing Waldorf education to the broader community, and dedication to the whole school.
Successful candidates will enthusiastically and energetically engage students and will work collaboratively with other faculty and administrators, as well as the parent community, to create an educational environment that is aligned with the school mission and program goals. Candidates must be committed to excellence in teaching and positive and effective classroom management. All Class Teachers are expected to have a history of strong, positive communication skills with parents and colleagues, to demonstrate professionalism and healthy boundaries, and to convey warmth and joy.
Qualified applicants will have completed at least an undergraduate degree and a Waldorf class teacher training, and have previous experience as a Waldorf class teacher. They will also have an unflagging devotion to children, a strong commitment to Waldorf Education, continuous professional development, and dedication to excellence in teaching, and a commitment to developing strong, collaborative working relationships with colleagues, parents, and the wider community.
Waldorf School of San Diego was founded in 1982 and is fully accredited through AWSNA and WASC. We serve about 250 students in Early Childhood through 12th grade on two campuses in a culturally diverse urban setting within 10 miles of the Pacific Ocean. We offer a full Waldorf curriculum including Music, Handwork, and Woodwork, Outdoor Education, Spanish, French, Foreign Exchange program, Eurythmy, Games/PE, as well as a middle and high school Athletics Program.
Salary is dependent upon education and experience. Benefits offered include medical and dental insurance, 401(k) plan, tuition remission, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
Please send resume, letter of interest, and three professional references including emails and phone numbers (in PDF format only) to: HR@waldorfsandiego.org
