Advancement and Operations Manager

Description
The Chicago Waldorf School is seeking a community-minded, technologically capable Advancement and Operations Manager to plan and lead community engagement events, cultivate and nurture personal relationships with donors, and set and track fundraising goals throughout the year. This job requires excellent written and oral communication skills, imbued with warmth and creativity, so that members of our community feel seen, heard, and inspired to contribute to the school’s financial campaigns. For this reason, candidates should be aligned with the school’s mission of educating children to be creatively-minded, intrepid thinkers with both a sense of themselves and of the greater world.
Our work environment is open and collaborative, meaning that candidates must be flexible and dynamic, open to learning new skills and responding to the ever-evolving needs of our community.
Qualifications and Expectations
1. Experience and proficiency in Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge is preferred, as this is our school’s primary financial software.
2. Outstanding oral communication, persuasive writing, and active listening skills.
3. Enthusiasm for socializing with community members and growing personal relationships.
4. Ability to multi-task.
5. Enthusiasm for working with children Pre-K-12, parents, volunteers, co-workers, and community members.
6. Ability to thrive in a dynamic, open-office, team-based environment.
7. Excellent project planning skills as well as event coordination experience.
8. BA and at least 1-3 years of work experience.
9. Proficiency in a variety of technology programs and platforms, and willingness to learn additional:
a. Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge
b. Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.
c. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
d. Social media, including LinkedIn
10. Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information regarding employee communications and personal matters, staff records, faculty records, student records, and personal matters.
11. Willingness to embrace and continue to study the Chicago Waldorf School, its pedagogical philosophy, and the wider Waldorf education movement.
