ESL Teacher

ESL Teacher
Portland Waldorf School is seeking a part-time English as a Second Language Teacher for students in grades 7-12 for the 2021-22 school year. The students will be asked to participate in ESL classes during the school day as needed and coordinated with teachers and parents. The teacher will provide English language classes and academic/homework support.
Qualifications and Expectations:
TESOL certification, Oregon Teaching License with ESOL Endorsement or similar qualifications
Experience working with adolescents
Experience teaching high-intermediate/advanced English language learners in an academic setting
Familiarity with Waldorf pedagogy (desired)
Portland Waldorf School was founded in 1982 and is fully accredited through AWSNA. We serve about 280 students in Early Childhood through 12th grade on a beautiful seven-acre campus. We offer a full Waldorf curriculum including Music, Handwork, Blacksmith and Woodwork, Drama, Outdoor Education, Spanish, German, Eurythmy, Games/PE, as well as a middle and high school Athletics Program.
This is a part-time, in-person, independent contractor position. Pay rate is $40.00/lesson and meeting time is paid at $15.00/hour. Start date is ASAP through mid-June. No benefits offered with this position.
Work schedule is as follows (not including school breaks):
Mondays 2:00-2:45pm
Tuesdays 11:45am-12:30pm and 2:00-2:40pm
Wednesdays 1:15-2:00pm and 2:00-2:40pm
Thursdays 1:15-2:00pm and 2:00-2:40pm
Fridays 11:00-11:40am
And meetings scheduled as needed (can be remote)
