Class Teacher Positions
Dec 17 2021 | Waldorf School of Baltimore | Baltimore, MD
First and Sixth Grade Class Teacher Openings, July 2022
The Waldorf School of Baltimore is searching for dedicated Waldorf Class Teachers to lead the 2022-23 first grade class. Join our supportive and collaborative faculty whose love of children and teaching is complemented by a dedication to effectively working with colleagues and parents. We are committed to working together to strengthen diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the school. Our faculty is innovative, participates and keeps up to date with Waldorf educational research and current educational practices that are compatible with Waldorf education.
Salaries are based on education and experience. Our benefit package includes medical and dental coverage, tuition remission, 403(b) retirement plan, and financial support for teacher education. We offer a mentoring program and strong, supportive collegial relationships.
Our School
Founded in 1971, the Waldorf School of Baltimore is dually accredited by AWSNA and (AIMS) the Association of Maryland Independent Schools. We are a Pre-K through Eighth Grade school. Grades 1-8 have a full complement of subject classes, including Spanish, Handwork, Eurythmy, Music, Art, and Games and PE classes. Our beautiful, hillside campus in northern Baltimore City includes woodland, fields, and garden activity areas. We are adjacent to Cylburn Arboretum. The school reflects the diverse nature of its community, drawing students from urban, suburban and rural areas. We are housed in our own beautiful purpose-built building overlooking the city.
Baltimore is vibrant and culturally-rich, offering world-class music, art and restaurants; yet it still has a small town feel. New York, Washington and Philadelphia are a day trip away. Surrounded by the richness of the Chesapeake Bay, it is easily accessible to mountains and ocean beaches.
Candidates will hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, and preferred candidates will have completed their Waldorf teacher training or are currently enrolled in a Waldorf teacher training program and have class teaching experience.
To apply, send a letter of introduction and your resume to Cecilia Liss, Academic Director at cliss@twsb.org.
