Black River Preschool is seeking a full-time teacher available immediately.

We are looking for a thoughtful, conscientious, creative and caring person to join our team in a primarily outdoor setting. This position requires strong organizational skills and great personal initiative. Candidate must be committed to excellence in teaching, need to possess strong written and verbal communication skills and should demonstrate strength in classroom management.

On-going responsibilities include:

creating and maintaining a rhythm for the day, lead the children in circle-time activities, present puppet plays, run parent evenings, talk to prospective parents, organize school Festivals, participate in classroom cleaning.

Candidates should have:

A love of children and a deep desire to support their growth, through observation and collaboration.

A strong work ethic and the eagerness to support a growing school.
An interest in supporting, motivating and inspiring your Teaching Assistant
An ability to collaborate, independently manage, and contribute in and out of the classroom
A strength in developing partnerships with families and colleagues
The desire to teach at a younger and naturally evolving school with a deep mission, motivated colleagues, and positive outlook.

The ability to thrive in outdoor spaces, offering rhythmic routine and play-based experiences for the children Strong communication and teamwork skills necessary.

Previous Waldorf teaching experience as well as a bachelor’s degree are required.

Black River Preschool is multi-aged preschool inspired by Waldorf education, located in Bedminster, NJ about 40 miles west of New York City in beautiful, rural Somerset County.
