Grades Teacher
Dec 03 2021 | The Waldorf School of Saratoga Springs | Saratoga Springs, NY
Come to beautiful upstate New York to join us at the Waldorf School of Saratoga Springs as a class teacher for the fall of 2022! Our ideal candidate will have experience as a class teacher, be capable of creatively engaging with a new class, work effectively with parents and colleagues, and have completed Waldorf teacher training.
The Waldorf School of Saratoga Springs was founded in 1981 and currently serves approximately 150 children from preschool through grade twelve. We have an Absolute Charter from the New York State Education Department. We are accredited by the New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS) and are full members of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA). Our eclectic downtown campus is spread over three historic buildings, two of which are within walking distance of each other in the small city of Saratoga Springs, NY, while our Forest campus is located on state park land 2 miles outside of town.
Our Early Childhood program houses parent-child, preschool, and mixed aged kindergarten classes. The Lower School serves grades one through eight and offers a richness of experience through main lesson content and special subjects (woodwork, handwork, French, music, movement, and spacial dynamics). The High School faculty offers students expertise in all of the subject areas, a cultural exchange program with a focus on world languages, internships, experiential immersion trips, college preparation, and a culminating senior project.
Saratoga Springs is a charming Victorian resort town nestled in the foothills of the Adirondacks with a population of approximately 30,000. We are three hours from Boston, New York City, and Montreal. Our location offers four delightful seasons, proximity to both wilderness and major cities, and at the same time a comfortable small-town feeling. Because of our popularity as a summer-time destination, Saratoga Springs offers many world class cultural events, such as hosting both the New York City Ballet and the Philadelphia Orchestra. We have a thriving music and theater life, restaurants, shops and community events.
For more information, please visit our website: www.waldorfsaratoga.org. Our salary is commensurate with Waldorf teaching experience. We offer a generous benefits package that includes tuition remission and medical coverage.
Please send your letter of interest, resume and three references to:
Abigail Reid, HR@waldorfsaratoga.org or mail to: 122 Regent Street Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
