Kindergarten and Early Childhood

Early Childhood Substitute Teacher
Nov 30 2021 | New Amsterdam School | New York, NY
Join our warm and supportive community as a substitute teacher for our mixed-age kindergarten classes. Classes are no more than 18 students from 3 to 6 years old. Our morning program runs from 8:30am to 1:00pm and our afternoon program runs from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. You will work alongside an assistant teacher in the classroom.
The ideal candidate will have Waldorf teaching certification and classroom experience. We will also consider applicants who are deeply familiar with Waldorf education, on their way to training, or in the process of deciding whether or not to begin training, who have a commitment to deepening their work with young children out of the principles of anthroposophy. We are looking for teachers that are able to enliven our students with the beauty of the natural world while providing a healthy, nurturing, creative, and respectful environment for each child. To apply, send your resume, cover letter, and contact information for three references to hiring@newamsterdamschool.org.
