Outdoor Kindergarten Teacher

The Outdoor Kindergarten Homeschool Teacher is responsible for leading the outdoor kindergarten class class (mainly five-year-olds and six-year-olds), 2 to 4 days a week (up to 5 hours/day) depending on enrollment. Duties include planning, carrying out, and reviewing the program and activities on a day-to-day basis.
The ideal candidate will have a confident classroom presence with strong social and communication skills, and a love for children and teaching. The candidate will enjoy being outdoors with the children in all weather conditions. The candidate either will have completed Waldorf Early Childhood training at a WECAN-accredited teacher preparation program, or be currently enrolled in an WECAN-accredited teacher preparation program with 3 years of Waldorf Early Childhood teacher experience.
The candidate must be able and willing to follow safety procedures for the school, and follow and enforce school policies and rules.
The Outdoor Kindergarten Teacher is an active member of the school’s faculty and participates in weekly Early Childhood faculty meetings. As such, the candidate must be able to work collaboratively with colleagues and demonstrate a commitment to the school beyond the classroom.
All faculty and staff must have a current CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain, provide proof of non-active TB, complete a Health Screening by a licensed physician, and complete a fingerprinting LiveScan.
Compensation: $25.00 per hour. Tuition remission available.
