Early Childhood Assistant Teacher Birth-Three Program
Nov 01 2021 | Orchard Valley Waldorf School | Sweet Clover Nursery
Sweet Clover Nursery of Orchard Valley Waldorf School in East Montpelier is seeking full and part-time assistant teachers.
Sweet Clover Nursery is a nature-based child care program that provides infants and toddlers ages 6 weeks to 3 years with warm, nurturing care led by a staff of Waldorf-trained, early childhood professionals. Children spend their days in small, family-like groups with children of different ages. Loving and respectful caregivers encourage children to develop their sense of self in a caring and rhythmic environment designed to nurture and support their continued development. Children are actively engaged in all aspects of their daily routine and care by respectful caregivers, which serves to strengthen children’s growing bodies. Days include creative free play, ample time in nature year round, wholesome organic morning snack, storytelling, nursery rhymes, and singing! To learn more about our program visit www.ovws.org.
We are seeking candidates who are warm, nurturing, kind, and patient. Must be willing to sit on the ground, sing with children, and play outside in all weather year round. Candidates should have a strong work ethic, be excited to come to work, and have a love of young children.
Experience in Waldorf early childhood education and/or Pikler/RIE philosophy is appreciated, but not required. We are willing to train candidates interested in learning a specific philosophy and method of working with children. We are ideally looking for candidates who have three credits in early childhood education or child development (or are willing to to complete this training within the first year of employment).
Please send a letter of interest, resume and three references to lynn.r@ovws.org.
