Mixed-Age Kindergarten Assistant Teacher

Mixed-age Kindergarten Assistant Teacher (full- or part-time)
The Orchard Valley Waldorf School is seeking an Early Childhood assistant teacher for our mixed-age kindergartens serving children ages 3-6 at our Montpelier campus, Child’s Garden.
This candidate will have a keen interest in Waldorf educational methods, and a desire to work with a team of seasoned early childhood educators focused on the social and emotional growth of the children in their care with a strong emphasis on nature-based, outdoor activities. This may be a full- or part-time position. Responsibilities include:
Share in the care of the children under the Class Teacher’s direction.
Implement the Waldorf Curriculum as directed by the Class Teacher, which may include but is not limited to the following: prepare daily snacks; maintain classroom cleanliness and order; participate in circle and storytime and outdoor activities.
Participate in classroom setup, cleaning, and preparation at the beginning of the school year, and deep cleaning at the end of the school year (one week before and after the student calendar).
Take over the role of the teacher in his/her absence.
The Child’s Garden campus is located in Montpelier, Vermont’s capital. It's a small town with big-city amenities - a lively arts and music scene, great restaurants, and an active community life. This campus sits in a residential neighborhood on the edge of town. We are graced to have an open field with a community garden, woods with trails, and more for our student’s daily experiences. Also Hasenpfeffer our pet rabbit.
Qualifications
Waldorf Early Childhood training and experience is preferred but not required
Vermont State PreK Teaching License is preferred but not required
