Long Term 3rd Grade Substitute
Oct 20 2021 | Camellia Waldorf School | Sacramento
Long-Term 3rd Grade Substitute Teacher
Camellia Waldorf School’s third grade teacher will be on a family leave of absence this winter, from January-April, 2022. We are searching to hire a substitute teacher for this three-month period for her lively, endearing class of 17 third graders. Our class teachers are supported by a strong in-house mentoring program, collaborative collegial working, ongoing study at faculty meetings, a strong administration, an active care group, and a wonderful contingent of subject teachers in Spanish, Movement, Gardening, and other specialty classes. Parents are also supportive and want to work with faculty in a collaborative way to ensure that the children have healthy experiences and opportunities for growth.
The academic blocks the substitute would be responsible for teaching are: 1) A form drawing and language arts block; 2) A block on the history/development of the money system including adding, subtracting, converting, and story problems; 3) A Shelters of the World block, including shelter projects, and 4) A Long Multiplication math block. This long-term substitute position would also involve teaching math and language arts skills in the later periods of the day, as well as holding the class in the ways a Waldorf class teacher does as part of the job.
The Camellia community is a warm and welcoming one with strong heart forces combined with a practical organization. Join us for a while and enjoy the warmth and enthusiasm!
To apply, please send resume and cover letter to jobs@camelliawaldorf.org.
