EC Faculty Chair
Oct 14 2021 | City of Lakes Waldorf School | Minneapolis, Minnesota
Early Childhood Faculty Chair
City of Lakes Waldorf School seeks a full time Early Childhood Faculty Chair to pioneer this role in our school. The EC Faculty Chair will provide administrative and mentoring support to our early childhood teachers and classrooms and help to ensure the delivery of the rich Waldorf early childhood curriculum. Duties will include providing support to over 20 early childhood lead and assistant teachers on two campuses, managing licensed programs, serving on various committees and leadership groups, providing support for EC staffing needs, and facilitating early childhood faculty meetings and professional development activities. The EC Faculty Chair will also be responsible for leading a Parent/Child program that provides a beautiful, warm and nurturing Waldorf environment for young children, 18-36 months, and their parent/guardian. The Parent/Child program is designed to support parents in developing healthy parenting skills, create a community with class participants, and educate parents about the value and benefits of a Waldorf education. We are seeking an individual who is committed to educational equity and inclusion and has the skill to support the development of an anti-racist curriculum in the context of Waldorf pedagogy.
Qualifications: Qualified candidates will be experienced Waldorf early childhood educators who have demonstrated leadership capacities and a commitment to collaborative and collegial work. Ideal candidates will have completed a bachelor’s degree and a Lifeways or Waldorf Early Childhood Teacher certificate program. A love of young children, a deep understanding of the Waldorf pedagogy as it relates to the young child, and a demonstrated capacity to educate and work well with parents is required. The EC Faculty Chair must work collaboratively within the school as a whole, and within the Early Childhood program, which consists of Parent/Child, Toddler, Preschool, and Kindergarten classes.
To Apply: Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Please send a letter of introduction, resume, short biography, and three references to Johanna Garcia at johannagarcia@clws.org. Questions may be directed to Marti Stewart, Administrative Director at (612) 767-1501 or martistewart@clws.org
