Kindergarten and Early Childhood

Early Childhood Outdoor Assistant Teacher
Oct 14 2021 | Acorn Hill Waldorf Kindergarten and Nursery | Silver Spring, Maryland
We are seeking an outdoor early childhood assistant.
Our ideal candidates have some Waldorf Early Childhood training and teaching experience, and possess a love and commitment to being outdoors with children. An interest in Anthroposophy is valued, and physical stamina is important.
Interested candidates should send a letter of interest and resume to info@acornhill.org.
Acorn Hill Waldorf Kindergarten and Nursery is a well-established, 57-year-old school dedicated solely to early childhood education located in Silver Spring, Maryland just outside of Washington, DC. We are a Waldorf school and a member of the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America (WECAN). We are nestled in a secluded wooded area on a six-acre site. Our beautiful campus includes playgrounds, forest trails, and gardens. We are a certified kindergarten and nursery licensed by the Maryland State Board of Education and a day care center licensed by the Office of Child Care, division of Maryland State Department of Education.
Acorn Hill commits to making our school a place where families, faculty and staff of diverse backgrounds feel welcomed and expressly valued. Our faculty and staff strive to bring students to an understanding and experience of the common humanity of all the world’s people–transcending stereotypes, prejudices, and divisive barriers. We will undertake the work necessary to prepare our children and ourselves for the challenges and joys of life in a diverse society.
All employees must meet Maryland State and Montgomery County licensing requirements. In addition, they need to pass a background check, including fingerprinting, and must possess the legal right to work in the United States.
We have positions for teachers and substitutes for the fall 2021 and are also starting to prepare for the 2022-2023 school year and beyond.
